Films that make us sad. Page 17

I have a confession to make. I did well up at a bit in the Rugrats in Paris movie, when Chuckie misses his dead mum and there's a song about it. My daughter got really upset and it set me off.

Ah yes, the spaghetti bit. And don't the family start to neglect the dog at one point?

Yes, I think so. There was certainly quite a lot of Teary moments through the whole film.

I haven't seen that movie. Next time my little nieces pay a visit, I might watch it with them.

It's okay. Someone gave us the VHS of it. There's a few 'oui'/wee gags in it.

I've just read an interview with Larry David in The Sunday Times:

I told my daughter just the other day, "Do you know how much I love you? I sat through Rugrats in Paris. Okay?"

So you might want to give it a miss...

I have sat through enough, Curb Your Enthusiasm. I am sure Ragrats would be a doddle. :D

:D (I love Curb) Larry David is very much like my brother-in-law, although he looks like Dustin Hoffman.

I grew to like it. It took a while.
Goodnight, Dolly. I hope you get some good sleep. :)

I can't smoke and type.

For many years I couldn't type (or do much else) without smoking cigarettes. When under pressure to produce a heap of writing to meet a looming deadline, it all became effortless thanks to soothing cigarettes and good music - and the knowledge that as soon as I was finished I could rush to the pub. Two years of no smoking and I still post boring crap on forums.

closely followed by Grahame Crowden as Jock in A Very Peculiar Practice.

* Graham. Did you like his performance in Hospital Britannia?

The part that gets me is when, Lady and Tramp are at an Italian restaurant and they share their spaghetti. I never thought I would have such emotions with animated dogs.

Did you enjoy Hot Shots Part Deux, which parodied that entire scene, as well as bits of Casablanca?

Girl/s

No film makes me sad because I'm a man. Though I did choke (one off) during Eyes Wide Shut. Does that count?

Legends of a Fall

Oh right... The ending.

The Piano as well.

You have mentioned some films I have not seen yet... and now I'm not sure I wanna ;)

Have never seen that, though I hear it is very good. He was a good part of a fabulous cast in the BBC's adaptation of Love On A Branch Line. :)

Teary

Are you a doctor then Tim? You should have mentioned it.

:D For the record, I let it slip a couple of years ago and, well, after that there was really no going back, was there? :( ;)
