Remember film fans, if you're off to the Kino this weekend, be sure to piss off movie nerds by saying in a loud voice -

'We should go see that Aquarium of Doctor Parsnips, it was directed by John Cleese and Batman died making it.'

If someone goes to correct you, burp loudly in their face.

Just saw UP.

Wow when did 3d get so good?

You should all see it, it's ace.

Not seen 3D yet. But what made UP's 3D any better then he others?

To be honest I didn't notice the 3d much, but I thought the film was terrific.
Having said that, I did get Vertigo a few times & I'm sure the 3D effects helped the illusion.

I think normally I'm looking out for the 3D effects, but in this instance I was just enjoying the story.

Up was a good film but agree it didn't use the most out of the 3D aspect, not like final destination with knifes, spears and cars jumping out into the audience.

Saw it last night, bloody excellent. I hardly noticed the 3D after about the first 20 minutes though, but it was always there. I suppose you just get used to it, which is a good thing.

Nil's alive! Hurrah!

Laughing out loud Wave

Reading the book at the moment, looking forward to the film

Just watched Zombieland. It was very funny, but I like Shaun of the Dead better.

DaButt, have you seen, Bruno?

No, haven't seen it yet. Not a big fan of SBC's work, but I'll probably break down and watch it someday.

I haven't seen it either, and none of my friends have.
Just curious to hear an opinion.

It's rubbish. It's pretty much along the same lines as Borat with the 'oh my God I can't believe he did that' humour, but the difference is Borat was funny in places. It's all an opinion of course, but my only recommendation for this film is that people do themselves a favour and not waste their time on it.

The problem with Bruno is that it doesn't really have any "heart". Whatever Borat got up to you kind of felt some sympathy for him. Bruno is, frankly, a completely unsympathetic character. He's a one-joke idea, whereas Borat had a little more going for him. Bruno was fine for short little sketches poking fun at the vanity and shallowness of the fashion industry, but the premise fails to sustain a whole film. It has one or two truly funny moments, but the rest is contrived, predictable and often rather nasty. :(
