Have you tried Zopiclone? I know someone who has taken it and seems to get them to sleep. They did complain it made them feel a bit 'Zombified' the day after but if you're not sleeping you probably feel like that already.

Have you tried Zopiclone?

Yes. Unfortunately it didn't work for me.

Sorry that's exhausted my knowledge of sleeping tablets, barring taking diazepam to get you off but it's not meant to be prescribed as a sleeping tablet although I know people who have used it for that purpose.

Poor Dolly, this is all getting quite worrying. :(

(I'm planning to stay up for most of the night as well. No insomnia, thankfully, just reaching and passing a deadline on the new script.)

Nytol may not sound like much, but I found it worked pretty well for me. (Not the herbal Nytol though, that's a waste of time frankly.)

Cheers. Wish I was like this when I had a baby that wanted feeding every hour for a year.

What's in the Nytol that's not herbal?

Sounds nice, but perhaps addictive? :)

Diphenhydramine. It's basically an anti-histamine with sedative properties. When I've taken them (and it was a while back, hence I can say they are safe with alcohol) then I was out like a light within about an hour.

They're over-the-counter pharmicist sold.

You don't really want to go down the benzodiazepine route (e.g. diazepam) as they can be quite addictive and difficult to get off in the long-term.

Well, from the people I know who took/take it they're not addicted but the problem with using it frequently is it no longer has any effect/need more to achieve same effect.
Sorry your not sleeping well, from my own experience it is hard enough to function normally with a normal nights sleep and without one it becomes even harder. Hope you get some sleep tomorrow. :)

I might try some. I'm off the booze at the moment anyway.

Thank you. :) You kind of get used to when you've had kids and it's amazing how long you can go without decent sleep. And at least I can do some writing without disturbance at night.
