Songs you hate! Page 4

I hate the whistling bit from Peter, Bjorn & John's single "Young Folks", as used repeatedly on adverts. In fact, any whistling on adverts annoys me.

Top 10

1. Wet Wet Wet - Love Is All Around (when it's played I want to commit murder)
2. The Beatles - She Loves Me (annoying)
3. The Beatles - Can't Buy Me Love (again - annoying)
4. Maureen Rees - Driving In My Car (She was the old bird on Driving School)
5. Samanda - Barbie Girl (Self Explanatory)
6. Nicki French - Don't Play That Song Again (I wish she hadn't sung it in the first place)
7. Robbie Williams - Angels (overhyped - wish it had flopped & got rid of him)
8. Nicola Holt (Big Brother1) - The Game (just naff)
9. Roxette - Dressed For Success (my favourite band, their worst record)
10.John Lennon - Imagine (complete pile of old shit)

'I'm Not In Love' by 10cc.

I'm finding it increasingly difficult to add my $0.02 to a new thread before it turns into a big sweaty homoerotic orgy.

2. The Beatles - She Loves Me (annoying)

Fair play, in that I don't know the proper names of the songs that annoy me the most.

9. Roxette ... (my favourite band)

:O

10.John Lennon - Imagine (complete pile of old shit)

If you think that's bad, try listening to the single put out by John's father - Freddie Lennon - That's My Life (My Love and My Home), which John was perhaps subconsciously imitating/mocking when he wrote Imagine. The opening and main chords in Freddie's song are quite similar to those of Imagine (which came later).

I've checked my thesaurus and "I'm Still Standing" comes out as "I'm still erect".

9. Power of Love (Huey Lewis not Frankie)

I love that one!

Garth Brooks songs (all of them).

This is clearly the worst song ever.

I had a girlfriend who once bought me a compilation CD called MTV Fantastic Females, which she insisted on putting on repeat during sessions of intimacy. The album included that song - and several others that I didn't think much of. But I grew to like them all. Pavlovian dogs and that.

Ooh, I'd never heard that before. But yes, it's absolute pants.

But it's a festive classic!

No, it's depressing. There are only three festive songs out there that are worthy of classic status- Bing Crosby's White Christmas, Boney M's Mary's Boy Child and The Pogues's Fairy Tale in New York.
