Off The Hook Page 7

This is an odd show in that the style/feel of it seems to change every week. It doesn't seem very consistent - almost like it hasn't made up it's mind what it is yet. It also doesn't feel very 'sitcom', although I'm not sure what catagory it would fall under.

I do enjoy watching it though - I like the characters (even warming to the ginger one now) and it's much more watchable than a lot of other comedies on at the moment.

I reluctantly watched this after the poor few before but was glad I did. It was much funnier than the other episodes, but then I like fart gags! I'll give episode 5 a chance and hope its getting better. No Scarlett though which was a shame. I'm not sure why they didn't have Scarlett and a friend as the double date - apart from the few German jokes they hooked in it would have made more use of the cast rather than have one disappear.

Even though it was a fart gag that whole sequence had me in tears.

Agree, the ginger one seemed like a poor version of Smithy in episode one but he's grown on me now.

I think or at least I hope they have decided to move Shane away from being the annoying character device that exists to simply mess things up for Danny.

It is fine if that is something he does occasionally but in the first 2 or 3 episodes that was all he did and he was a very hard character to like. Whereas in this one he had his own stuff going on and felt more real if that makes sense.

Basically he has become less annoying as the series has gone on to the point where I like him now.

Good episode with a nice ending.

I do hope there's a second series of this. Despite not being laugh out loud funny, it was always enjoyable.

Agreed. A bit predictable, but fun.

This is being repeated on Saturday afternoons on BBC2.

Here's a script of episode 4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/insight/downloads/scripts/off_the_hook_s1e4.pdf
