People Who Don't Watch Telly Page 9

The Simpsons sort of owes a small debt of gratitude to Bill Cosby, as when he decided to end The Cosby Show (which was up against The Simpsons in terms of time slots) their ratings soared and it partially helped to keep it going.

There's also the Hibbert's in The Simpsons.

Laughing out loud *laughs inappropriately*

Dr. Hibbert is to this day my most favourite secondary character, followed closely by Cletus.

What does Dr Hibbert do, Lee? Rolling eyes

What are you getting at Tim?

I loved the occasions The Simpsons have parodied it, especially when they made fun of the fact that, every time one the Huxtable's male relatives turned up in a show, they always seemed to be some long-forgotten jazz legend. :D

Did they use The Hibbert's in that scene? I remember it being the actual Cosby's or Huxtables?

It was in a Bleedin' Gums Murphy episode, where they showed him guest-starring in an old Cosby Show episode on TV.

Yay! :D

I miss Bleedin' Gums, and all the other characters that have been "offed" over the years.

Yes, I remember. That's what was confusing me. I thought you was referring to the fact that Dr. Hibbert had already been mentioned.

Which reminds me, I do love his different hair styles in the flash backs.

I quite liked it when they killed Maude Flanders... Errr

I also liked it in the The Simpsons' 138th Episode Spectacular programme where Troy Maclure posed the ad break teaser...

Q. Which two popular Simpsons characters have died in the past year?

Revealing the answer...

A. None. Bleedin' Gums Murphy and Dr Marvin Munroe did die, but they were never popular.

:D

(It's doubly sad that voice artist Phil Hartmann died a few years back, because that was the end of Troy Maclure as well. :()

I particularly liked his Mr T mohican and his Stevie Wonder 80s-style dreads.
