My great news is that I've finally signed my first proper grown-up writer's contract for a sitcom today. :)

(I may even get around to actually reading it at some point. It's a big document.)

Hey! Congrats TW!

(I have only just come across this as I assumed the thread to be comprised of phoney good news)

Legally I now have to shut up about it, unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view), as it's in my contract to do so.

I first sent off a serious script 2 years and 2 months ago, so I've been very lucky so far I think. Before then I hadn't written anything since sketches and stand-up at university. Have had a near-miss or two before now and have other things on the boil at the moment, but this feels like I'm finally planting some sort of flag.

Well done - bastard! :)

How long had you worked on it? Has any of it appeared on here?

I've never posted anything on here, Chappers, so it's unlikely. :)

I can't really say, but it's been a while on this one. It's a script I first wrote over a year ago, if that helps. Sorry.

Hug Lovey Oh Tim, you have made me the happiest woman alive....:P

I found a pound yesterday but I didn't want to overshadow Tim's news.

UBERGRATS TIM Hug Hug Hug

No Congrats Tim, good luck!

Well done Tim!

Nice one, Tim. Glad to hear someone is finally crawling from this wretched quagmire.

Just finished my first day ever as a paid teacher!
-I taught an English class: kids were overall pretty good.
-I watched the study hall (so I basically had 3 classes): I had one girl refuse to return to the study hall when I caught her sneaking out. She told me to 'f**k off tattle tail". I didn't know what to do but watch her walk away with her even ruder friend. I reported them to the office but I doubt anything is going to happen to them.
-I taught a double Math class >_< NOT my subject at all!!! I struggled throughout the entire class trying to help them with their work. Lucky for me they were nice kids who had patience.

So despite all those few problems I'm freaking happy today.
Plus my folks are visiting from up north and I haven't seen them in months, PLUS it's a day off from school PLUS it's Canadian Thanksgiving day on Monday meaning a 4 day holiday!!!

Just back from the hospital and I almost guessed right.

I've lost 14 and a half stone!!
