If you ever get to see Bride of the Monster, you shouldn't be disappointed. It's an Ed Wood flick, but it's the best bad movie I've ever seen.

Will look out for it, cheers!

It's the one that Bela Lugosi did and then died in the midst of filming. His body double is, well...I would have been a better double for him than the guy they picked. MST3K did their take on it a while back. That version, with their riffing is hysterical, but for legal reasons isn't available. But the movie stands on its own very well.

Must admit, Ed Wood is one of my alltime favourite films. Never seen one of his actual films, though.

Watching his movies makes the biopic even better.
Yes, I do love that film.

Are you sure?
I think the film where they use the look a like is 'Plan 9 from Outer Space' using footage from a film called Tomb of the vampire which had previously been shelved due to Lugosis death.
Sorry I misspoke. I was typing about Bride of the Monster and thinking of Plan 9. I saw both recently at a bad film film fest a couple of weeks ago. Humble apologies.

Bride of the Monster was the one where he couldn't remember any of his dialogue.
The film Ed Wood stops with Plan 9 and doesn't show us Ed's descent into drug addiction and poverty.
His story is so sad.

On the plus side, Johnny Depp played him in a film!
What do you think Ed Wood's thoughts were on that bit of casting?

He'd have been pleased. It's probably Depp's performance.
I had friends over to watch it and intentionally didn't tell them who was playing him. They were astounded! Evidently, most Americans think he can only play Edward Scissorhands or a pirate.
Coming Soon: Pirate Scissor Hands!
