Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 7 Page 2

Oh man this new season with the Seinfeld cast is really funny. I keep wanting to quote the show but it would give away to much.

It's tempting, isn't it? :(

I don't think there's that much to give away. Apart from the cast getting together not a lot happens however it is still amazing to watch and I am also pleased that the acting genius Michael Richards is back on TV. I know it's improv but I am guessing Larry will cut the racist bits out.

I'm sure Larry said in an interview that Michael Richard's racist outburst will be addressed in the season. Hopefully it involves Leon! :D

And feel free to talk about the season in this thread guys, I created this thread for that very reason. This is separate from the other Curb thread. :)

Was the context of Michael Richard's outburst that he was trying to be a bit street with the brothers and it backfired?

If so it almost sounds like an episode of Curb.

I think he was trying to be all edgy and crazy and shocking. At least that's the defence I remember hearing. Whatever it was, it was damn stupid.

I do think he's great though, the physical comedy he used to pull off in Seinfeld is nothing short of amazing.

I reckon they'll have him doing stuff like that in Curb. His character does seem quite similar to Krammar. I guess he is probably quite like him in real life.

I reckon part of the racist outburst was a way to get himself back in the spotlight. For all I know he might hold some racist views but I am pretty sure the reason for the outburst was not to express his hate for black people.

Not sure it worked if that was the case. Unless he wanted to improve his standing amongst small minded white Americans convinced that black people are taking over the world.

I seem to remember him talking about being heckled during his stand up bit and that was what set him off.

Yeah, I think he was just under pressure and snapped. And when people snap they often say silly things. Granted, it wasn't very professional for a comedian to let hecklers get to him (they're part of the job, after all) but it is understandable.

Hmm, it seemed undeniably racist from what I remember. I still think Michael Richards is a great comedy actor and Kramer is a fantastic comedy character, but I don't think there is anyway to defend his outburst.

Will be interesting to see how they deal with it in Curb though!

Here's nice Curb/Seinfeld link.

:D

Michael Richards is nothing like Kramer. He is a really serious thespian with really long and considered opinions on comedy (watch any of the DVD extras). Which makes Kramer all the more amazing.

Yeah, I agree he is a bit of a thespian however he is a bit of a loner nutcase and possibly is quite dozy.
