Give it time, things will get a lot better. I hated university at first, and everybody I met, but eventually I found likeminded people and it ended up being the best time of my life. Mind you, to get to that point I did have to pass through a Drinking Whisky Alone In My Room Every Night Phase and a Self Harm With Broken Bits of Mirror Phase. But after that, it was plain sailing. :)

Do you think living at home might be a disadvantage Robyn?

I discovered that a lot of people at university didn't want to know me when they found out I was married. :( I expect they think I must be really boring. I remember one guy showing me around the campus who quickly dumped me mid tour when I mentioned being married, as if it means you wear fluffy slippers and watch Heartbeat or something. :(

there's a song in that somewhere...

Do you have a yo-yo or is that just dirty talk Ben??

Whatever takes your fancy!..:)...So Ben told me anyway.

Seeing as it's dark outside, a bit of both...

See, just as I stated.

To all the uni stuff - It's the people, the workload, everything. I don't think living at home helps, but I also think I'd hate living in halls. I'm just not one to drink or be up late, and do actually want to get my work done. I don't want to change who I am, but do want to fit in, or at least feel like I can get my work done. Maybe I can't have it all, or any of it, though.

Robyn broke down again earlier this evening and is eating many biscuits.

Could you just let your lovely curly hair down once? You might enjoy it. :)

:$ It's not lovely, and I guess I don't see it as a case of letting my hair down as not being true to myself. People won't like me any more for one night of drinking, especially when I'll go straight back to me afterwards.

Do you think it's just the stress of change, Robyn?

I dunno. Maybe. My mum thinks I maybe need a different seminar group, but I really like a couple of people in my current group.

Are you going to hang round with them then?

You don't have to drink, just go out and have a laugh and a dance or something! Anyway there must be some like-minded people - any clubs or anything that might attract similar people?

I wouldn't change seminar group; it's an important life skill having to spend time with people you don't really like. :) I'm still working on it.

I think you just need to give it a couple more weeks to settle in.
You were yourself at school and you fitted in there, you had loads of friends! You'll be fine in a bit.
