I give their research department credit. It only took them about 2 months to discover it, which sadly only cements my point. But my original letter was magnificent (and properly edited!).

The piss off letter they sent me stated that: "although we do enjoy your fresh outlook on life in this portion of our state, it has come to our attentoin that you have in the past been critical of our newspaper and what it stands for. We feel that it would not be a good working relationship for us and therefour we have decided to turn down our original offer."

I don't know if you heard, but I was hired as a copy editor there while in college. I was fired when I was told that I was finding too many mistakes and making everyone look bad.
