Far Out - The UK's First Online Lesbian Drama Page 2

Not so much into the rapey side of things. ;)

I suspect it won't attract a huge following from here but :)

Why on Earth do you think that? How dare you, I'm a lesbian! Women are my only fancy, along with fox's classics with tea and Crisp bed sheets.

I'd much rather see realistic gay characters, such as Mr Humphries, Daffyd Thomas, Lieutenant Gruber and Julian Clary.

Are they gay then?

Tsch! They'll be saying Larry Grayson was gay next. Angry

Laughing out loud

Actually didn't Gruber end up marrying Helga in the end?

Yeah he just had a very close male companion.

Well, Mr Humphries did share his bed with the pretty girl in Grace and Favour and Gruber had married Helga by the end of Allo Allo, so yes.

:D

Well, I tried to give this a go, I really did but unfortunately, this comedy drama was lacking in both comedy and drama.

Everyone seemed to be going around talking in 'support group' speak. The way the girls went out of the way to be non-judgemental about everything was a bit weird.

'Did you hear about Kathy? She likes sleeping with Alsatians.'

'Hey, that's okay, it's her lifestyle choice.'

After the bar lady's speech, I was about to switch off, but glad I didn't as the one funny bit actually happened involving the spikey haired girl stealing her roommate's batteries.

There was almost some drama at one point, where spectacle chick was a bit narked that blondie didn't introduce her as her girlfriend. But this argument was resolved in exactly 4 seconds, without a single shout or crossed word. Zzzzzzz.

I'd be well up (oo-er) for a decent lesbo comedy-drama and it's a shame this ain't it. Hook me into the story, give me some conflict and let me care about the characters.

This should be so easy to write - women in general are mental - so put two mentals together and let the fireworks happen. Job done.

Thanks for all the replies, and mostly sensible ones. :)

Fair enough if you're not into it. I think I enjoyed it more having seen it all properly at one screening. If I'd just seen one part online not knowing anyone, I may not have followed it, but once it got going, the characters became more interesting and there were some funny moments like the vibrator scene. I'm guessing you missed the kissing scene RC as you might have enjoyed that too.

I loved Queer as Folk when it first aired - it seemed a big deal at the time. OK I shouldn't have suggested it was a realistic portrayal as such when it was one man's dramatic take on his experience, and what would I know!? But at least it showed an aspect of that lifestyle in a new way.

And the irish one was v sexy.

:)

As far as this show goes I still think with the right help it could be very good and appeal to a broader audience.

Time will tell.

Jx
