Quote: Scatterbrained Floozy @ October 4 2009, 8:39 PM BSTI hate and am very fed up of uni. Yay.
I just bought a ticket to fly to Atlanta at the end of the month. Not very exciting, but it'll be nice to see my parents and my brother and his family. I get to meet my year-old niece for the first time.
Quote: Dolly Dagger @ October 4 2009, 8:30 PM BSTI know of someone who has a had a succession of puppies and dogs from rescues over the years and when they haven't trained them properly they've either given them away or had them put down.
A good rescue should do some checks.
Yep, I was expecting some, but nope. It was quite a small place though, and it was pretty damn full, so I think maybe they were just desperate to make some room. Or maybe they just don't/didn't do checks, dunno.

I was like that for the first few weeks. It lasted four years >_< .
Seriously, for a while just didn't think I'd manage and considered changing.
After a bit stopped being so overwhelmed and got into the swing of things. Just give it some time. Don't know what your issues are but mine were mainly with not knowing what to do and where to go and having to make new friends and exams in the second week. And working out the timetable, which had about 4 different course streams on it.

What's wrong with it then?
The friends I made in the first week and the friends I ended up with later on were very different. Give it time hun!
Is it the people, the course or everything?
I didn't fit in with the first uni I went to. I didn't fit in with the course on the 2nd and on the third I got on really well and have made a few friends for life.

Give it time, things will get a lot better. I hated university at first, and everybody I met, but eventually I found likeminded people and it ended up being the best time of my life. Mind you, to get to that point I did have to pass through a Drinking Whisky Alone In My Room Every Night Phase and a Self Harm With Broken Bits of Mirror Phase. But after that, it was plain sailing.
Chip may be onto something here, Robyn. I started drinking seriously when I arrived at university because I felt unable to fit in, out of my depth, a fish out of water. Alcohol took the fear away in social situations. I'd highly recommend it as a coping strategy.
Just seen this and thought someone else on the BCG might like it
How much are they asking for on Ebay?
Ben is off to walk the dog.
