Talking of mockumentaries (on another thread). Anyone know much about this new Shane Meadows' film, a mockumentary starring Paddy Considine?

Hi Tim, I just saw a trailer for that at the cinema - looked good to me. I'll definitely go see it.

The last few films I've seen have been OK including:

500 days of Summer which I enjoyed, but not as much as Juno which I'd say it was comparable with (yes I know you can compare anything to anything, don't be pedantic). I did find the jumping of days from 346 to 75 to 146 etc a bit annoying though.

Julie and Julia was alright but definitely not for the boys though unless you love cooking perhaps. And it was probably technically correct but Meryl Streep's accent was annoying which put me off.

Then I saw The Soloist which I can't decide on. I kind of liked it but not the Hollywood-ish ending, but then it seemed to be based on a true story so maybe I've become too cynical. It makes you appreciate having a safe place to come home to though.

Today I saw Fish Tank:

Very good gritty British Film - a nice change from Hollywood endings but quite grim. Nothing annoying although they gave the impression you could walk from Barking to Tilbury in about an hour when it's about 16 miles. Then she seemed to walk to the Circus Tavern (where I went to once when I was about 17).

That aside it's my recommendation of the week!

Jx

Paddy Considine used to be in a drama group with my Best Man!

Fantastic Fact that!

They're remaking Red Dawn. Looks like it's been updated to add Chinese troops to the mix.

Wolverines!!!
