Peter Denyer RIP

Actor Peter Denyer has died at the age of 62. From The Times...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/obituaries/article6859092.ece

Peter played Dennis Dunstable (portraying a teenager, despite the fact he was well into his 20s) in Please Sir! - and the spin-off series The Fenn Street Gang.

He was perhaps more familiar to some of us (in what I thought was a brilliant performance) as peculiar nerd Ralph in Dear John (far left in the picture, http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/dearjohn/).

He was a semi-regular in Agony with Maureen Lipman (playing one half of a gay couple) and also appeared in Emmerdale and Dixon Of Dock Green. Later in life he wrote, directed and starred in panto.

R.I.P.

That's sad news. Dennis was a great character.

Very sad news, he was very likeable as Dennis in Please Sir! and for me he stole the show in Dear John.... Sad news indeed. Any idea what he dird of? I remember about two years ago I read an interview with him and he said his favourite sitcom was Green Wing.

Yes, very sad indeed. May watch some Please Sir! later on tonight. RIP.

Loved him as Ralph.

Loved him as Ralph.

Do you remember the classic episode when it was set in his flat and he told everyone about his family curse.
Loved his catchphrase in it aswell 'My motorcycle Combination'

Reminds me that I really should get around to buying Dear John on DVD.

Another highlight of Ralph's was when he was DJ'ing at the singles disco. :)

What do you mean? Kirk was played by Peter Blake. :)

I know but if you read the Times obituary looks like they have the characters and the actors who play them mixed up

Ah, yep, the "gaudy medallions" is obviously not Ralph. ;)
