What about The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl?

The worst part, honestly, is that I have to keep packing up my kids and driving them all over hell's half acre to house after house to see relatives they barely know, when all they want to do is spend time with me and their new toys.

I played that last year and my mom about had a basket of kittens.
But Mariah Carey's Christmas song is brilliant!

I know all about having a big family and having to drive around staying here and there making sure everyone's been seen. Plus I usually have to cook for everyone. Still I love Christmas.

That's one of my favourites.

No idea what vouchers you get, but I've never even seen - let alone received - one that is valid online.

I don't know what this year will be like, with the situation with my husband being the way it is. I love Christmas too. I just hate how everyone has to make sure that their get-together is the best and that they get my kids the best presents (which they are never allowed to play with while visiting! ). the whole situation just stinks.

Since vouchers are essentially a less-good form of cash, they should have some feature which compensates for this, like an entitlement to a discount, or access to unique shopping features. Maybe this already happens?
Can't you just say you want a quiet family Christmas this year and stay at your house with the kids?
I never went away over Christmas as a kid, always stayed home. The last thing I want to be doing at Christmas is be staying at someone's house, being all polite and uncomfortable.

The unique shopping feature is that it's a form of money you CAN ONLY USE IN ONE FUCKING SHOP!
Ok, sometimes one or two (chains). But you get the point.

Last year we stayed in a hotel btween the two families. No work for me, a swimming pool and it was discounted. Might do it again.

No, both moms are criers and masters of the guilt trip. There has always been this stupid tug of war, pissing contest when it comes to holidays. Now with the split and all, things are only going to be more hassled and frustrating.

Bloody blimey. Your family is weird!
But like zooo said, you should tell 'em to poo off. Why do you feel you have to drive them all over the place? Seems silly to me.

You're weak.

To those who may give you gift vouchers, advise them this is your preferred place to shop: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/gc

No, they are both manipulative and will turn both sides against us. They've both done it before.
