That episode is not a fair reflection of Coronation Street, it was basically a crap version of the Peter Kay thing (or whatever his series was called).
I think you would be surprised how many brilliant characters there are and how great the dialogue is. I am pretty sure one of about ten of their characters could easily have a succesful sitcom based around them.
They had comedy in EastEnders today!

Before I go to bed I have got cahtolic guilt about insinuating that Michael Le vell was simple and fond of violence. This wasn't wasn't the case, I got a bit carried away. He did actually seem like a nice guy, just a very normal one.
