Isn't this guy's threat a bit arse-over-tit?
"If my character doesn't stand by his wife, I'll leave."
So... doesn't that mean his character will leave too? Or can they just put him in with CGI or something?

Good point. He's not really thought it through I think. Which is fine, he's a soap actor, he's not pay to think - just to stand in the right place and say the lines relatively convincingly.
I've never seen it but I've seen him. Seems the same as any other soap where something like this happens - it's all good publicity.

Nice idea, but I believe ITV's CGI budget is spent entirely on Robson Green.

Actually I believe you're thinking of Myllene/ Mylene/ Margerinelyninanana Klass who is more exposed on TV than anything you'll ever see on Eurotrash
He should get over it. At the end of the day, it's his job. He shouldn't worry about the few nutters who confuse Corrie with real life and will throw turnips at him.
Actually I think you should all know who Kevin Webster is. I don;t watch Corrie, but I know. It's an important part of our popular culture. In particular comedy writers should be aware of such characters.

Exactly, Dolly! I think there could be/are a lot of writers missing out on work, due to, shall we say, comic snobbery.

Where would TV Burp be without the soaps?
Although a lot of you don't watch Coronation Street a lot of it is written by the best writers in the country such as Jonathan Harvey who has written Gimme Gimme Gimme and several West End plays. There are some dud episodes when it works it is genuinely funnier than most sitcoms.
It also does have some of the best characters in TV history, including Kevin IMO.
I think Kevin Webster is a true legend and would be sorry to see him leave if he does. It's unfortunate for Tyrone, but at the end of the day, if Kevin Webster wants your wife, he's going to have her.
Exactly, he is the ultimate meat and potato everyman.
I have spoke to Michael Le Vell a few times at United and he seems very much like Kevin, simple but with a big heart who likes a pint and a fight, and so was quite shocked that he was starting to throw a bit shocked that he was going all luvie.

Agreed, Ronnie
E.G. Peter Barlow is describing an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting to cynical old Blanche.
PETER:
It's just a load of people sitting around in a circle talking about their problems."
BLANCHE:
Anything's better than 'Loose Women'.
He is my second favourite character in the show. Favourite- Ken Barlow.
