I had the last laugh though because I went to work in an archive which paid more for less hours!

Music is not my strong point when it comes to playing. Considering music runs in my family, I should be a genius but I actually suck very badly.

I was asked once to do a workshop in a learning centre above a library but they didn't have safe enough facilities to work in. Every room was carpeted and the rooms were just not big enough.

Ooh how do you get a job in an archive.

(Is Dolly writing a library sitcom per chance?)

By sheer luck. I knew the person before me and they recomended me. Most jobs I have done have been sheer luck ones. I am one of those people who fall into work.

The place I worked in you needed good knowledge of the arts and have basic computer knowledge. I think it varies where you are and what information you are archiving.

I've stopped using shaving cream and switched to regular soap. I just lather my face in the shower and start shaving. It seems to work as well as shaving cream.

To be honest, I usually have about a week's worth of beard. Shaves are an infrequent nuisance.

I was pleased to find that trick too. You know, me being such a tight arse. But soap can dry your skin out, which is a sore, itchy bugger. But a bit of manly Nivea does the trick ;) I use an electric shaver now though and that's good too.

Ooooh, nice one.
Would love a job like that.

I'm so glad other people like libraries so much. I bet you'd love a sitcom about one.

Only if it's funny. There's an Australian sitcom called The Librarians, the second series of which concluded last month. I only watched half an episode of the first series. Seemed like a lame Aussie rip-off of The Office. Horrible accents, token Muslim character, token Patsy Stone (Ab Fab) character, though I guess that's all part of the 'humour'. I can't see it being back for a third series, although the ABC does like to waste money.

EDIT: Tonight's booze seems to be non-alcoholic. Grim.

It has good points and bad points. You learn a lot and the pay isn't that bad but it is MIND NUMBING and people who come in expect you to know instantly where something is.

Why would you want a job in an archive??
Did you try the local sperm bank?

My bottom barrel job if I could do no other job but still wanted a job were I was happy for the rest of my life would be at Lush.

That's if Tooth fairy and Queen of Candy Island are taken.

Most of our library workers are either grumpy old women or angry lesbians. Not sure why, just an observation.

Ha, my mum worked in libraries for years and loved it. Hopefully she'll turn out to be neither. :D

I volunteered at my local library for a couple of years. The majority of them were super nice people. Although I hated the librarians in my old home town up north. They could barely speak English and got bitchy if you couldn't speak French to them. "Ah don't know where you find dat! Dat's is what de computars over dair are for".
I'm in a bitter French hating mood today. My mom would not be happy.

I use shaving cream which I apply with a nifty shaving brush. As a true gentleman should.

Is there anywhere you haven't worked! You're like Marmalaide Atkins.

*looks up Marmalaide Atkins, but is still confused*
I worked a lot of crap jobs. Is that what she did?
