Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe Page 5

Which games show was David Walliams in?
It was a while ago, but he used to do a few Comic characters inbetween segments.

Games World according to IMDB.

Found it, it was called Gamezville...

I liked watching it for these 2...

I remember that show now. Those two always reminded me of community social workers who were put in amongst the 'yoofs' to try and appeal on their level.

But the truth is - Gamezville, Gamesmaster, that other one with Big Boy Barry were always doomed to failure because they insisted on having British teenagers in them, who spent the entire time looking at the floor and had all of the personality of a squashed flan.

PRESENTER: Mark here reckons he's the best at Street Fighter and says you're going down!

KID: Yeah, alright.

PRESENTER: Didn't you hear me? Marks says he is the UK champion at Street Fighter and no one can beat him ever. How do you respond to that?

KID: Don't know.

PRESENTER: Are you looking forward to beating big mouth Mark at Street Fighter later in the show?

KID: I guess.

It was like watching a childrens clown trying to entertain inmates on death row.

Too true.

Another fundmental problem with these types of programs is that watching somebody else play computer games just isn't that much fun.

It's like watching porn with your hands tied behind your back.

Enjoyed Graham Lineham's contribution who argued about the lack of decent narrative and story telling on computer games. Maybe the sort of audience who play computer games are hardly looking for Dennis Potter or the Wire.
Or am I wrong and the fact that gamers are now older and more demanding may mean he has a point and perhaps there needs to be an HBO equivalent in the computer market.

Aw, bless! ;)

Does anyone know what the classical music playing in the background to the Linehan interview was?

Great show - Sex Crime looked like a blast.

Was that the '80s one where you raped hospital patients in comas? 'Cos that one looked ace. :)

yeah - just don't get caught

Great show, I really enjoyed it.
I realise that I haven't got enough gory games in my collection, I need to get Resident Evil or something.

The two Scottish guys that appeared in it(Rab Florence and Ryan McLeod) actually had a pretty good Gaming show called Videogaiden. Incidentally Charlie Brooker actually appeared in an episode of it.
