Didn't it tear your face off though?

Nope. Shaving foam being a necessity is a myth. Dry shaving is not recommended. But hot/warm (or even cold) water is all you need to wet your face/'beard' prior to/during shaving.

I find there's a big difference shaving without foam. The razor snags a hell of a lot with only water, but doesn't do that with foam. Personally I don't think it's a con/useless.

I use water. Sometimes I use King of Shaves.

My friend dry shaves a rather impressive beard with 2 cheap disposable razors. One in each hand, he hacks away at his face like a madman. The sound gives me the creeps.

I've stopped using shaving cream and switched to regular soap. I just lather my face in the shower and start shaving. It seems to work as well as shaving cream.

To be honest, I usually have about a week's worth of beard. Shaves are an infrequent nuisance.

That is freakish. If I shaved my legs with just water, they'd fall off.

I'd never have pegged you as a leg shaver. :)

?

Thanks a lot. :(

You know I love you really! And I'm sure you're as smooth as somebody undergoing chemotherapy! :)

Um, thanks.

:)

I could use a f**king drink this afternoon!

Have one! Where are you?

Shaving oil is better than foam, but it ruins the razors quicker.

I didn't have to shave once when I went through chemo. The one plus to the whole experience! :)

What would you use it for?

I use soap on my legs before shaving or sometimes conditioner because it leaves a smooth feel.

If I don't use anything I end up with a massive and painful rash.

Yep. Although from a couple of recent experiences, Dolly's assessment of the situation ("...might be pleased you bother (if you're buying mens stuff)..." - although God knows I need it) makes sense too.

Ditto Claire's Accessories...

I happen to know that the staff at Claires have to pounce of you like they do because they get mystery shoppers who check they are doing certain things. No one wants to be the one who got the low score because a very low score can get people fired. As I recall they have to greet you when you come in, on sale days offer a basket, and when you get to a till they must draw attention to the items they have on offer so I can assure you at least there, they don't mean any harm, they are just scared you might be the mystery shopper!
