But his days are numbered, so now it's just a waiting game for Matt Smith to appear.

Yeah, it's dragging on a bit, you can't help but want to get on to the next guy.

Sylvester McCoy

(Maybe its my age, but McCoy is my favourite Doc)

Tennant has been ace.

He obviously gives it his all, but I can't stand him.

It can't be anything else.

Thought it was pretty good - /..../It was slightly let down for me .../

That describes my experience of the new Who. However brilliant it might be in parts, there's always something which annoys me, usually a glaring error in the plot, or appalling mawkishness.

Blink was probably my favourite episode though.

I don't think Christopher Ecclestone's career has gone the way he planned since he left Dr Who and should have stayed on longer. I know there's a recession on and we've all got bills to pay but I can't believe he's wasting his time and talent hamming it up as a Brit baddies in tripe like GI Joe. Just come home, even appearing in Bonekickers or an ITV cop show can't be that bad.

And I got to read the most beautiful term for a eunuchs bits ever.

Just for you buddy.

Tennant's not as good as Ecclestone. Much better than Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy though.

I thought the same, until I actually watched more than a few Tennant episodes. Tennant has now become my favourite doctor. I actually don't think Ecclestone was a very good doctor. He wasn't genuinely crazy enough and he was a bit too pissy. Tennant was overall fun to watch, even when he was being bitchy you still couldn't get mad at him because he was just so damn charismatic.

Wrong. So wrong I might need to visit the angry dome.

I think the exact opposite. I found Tennant's charisma forced.

Ha! Deal with it Gav and Ken! Team Tennant are a go!
Seriously though I thought by the 3rd season (Tennant's 2nd) he had fit into the role well.

Tennant most of the time was a marvelous actor fighting a terrible script. No actor in any era can say "Timet Wimey" with out sounding like a twunt. RTD and his accolytes at time wrote dialogue like a man killing bunnies with a cricket bat.

Human nature, some of the stuff with the Master we saw a real tlaented charismatic figure.

But for flips sake he had to pretend to fnacy Catherine Tate and Beaver chops! That must be one of the hardest roles ever!

I'd given up by then. I thought the one with Catherine Tate was alright, but only because she was a good assistant.

:P I don't Deal with things. I do the Dealing Cool That's what I'm talking bout!

You are so wrong, you could drop the R and open a Chinese takeaway.

He never had to pretend to fancy Tate.

I don't think the new series has been awash with terrible scripts; some poor and middling, sure, but terrible is a bit of a stretch. Especially if your saying that terrible scripts are the norm now on Who.

Ya, that was one redeeming thing about having Tate as a companion. None of the romance. Apart from the episode where he had to give her a kiss to save her from something.

I actually thought she was great, probably the best regular companion since it returned. If she was just an actress, and not that sketch show woman, I imagine more people would have warmed to her; the trouble is she came with a lot of baggage and people who actively disliked her because of her comedy show.
