Shooting Stars Page 29

I feel (again) that this was a much better episode than previous ones. I agree with there being a different 'feel' to Shooting Stars, definitely more of a Bang Bang than before, however I think that once it is accepted as more of a sketch show than the Shooting Stars we used to know, then it has a lot to offer! Or at least, last night's episode did. c:

True, I miss the live-celebrity-attacking element, but maybe this is harder to do now than it was then? I wouldn't know, I'm only guessing here. Maybe they got tired of it. Either way, it's not there as much any more.

Good to see they broke Lenny Henry though! Pleased

What this new series is sorely lacking is Vic's bad jokes that get complete silence from everyone, more genius sketches and song spoofs and this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBPbXtcz65s

I think the flat gag thing has run it's course rather, but I fully agree with you on the rest, and especially the 'this'! I got me hopes up when they brought out the keyboard, but no... ...that bit was still good though. |D

"Loving you .... because your Boobs are New!"

Tired joke Bob, let it go!!!!

Oh goodness yes, I forgot to say about that. We all know what he wouldn't do. >_< Also with the Jack Dee's face descriptions.

Still, there's not really any change there. The 'she's football crazy' song was getting very tired in 5th series too.

Don't worry - there's only one episode to go.

Just stumbled across this - I've been a bit disappointed too. Even "The Smell of..." was just more solidly funny than this latest series of SS.

Noticed that Vic has found a new niche as an economic commentator though - apparently the guy interviewing in the street here didn't even know who he was:

What makes you think that? Looks to me like he chanced to spot him in the street and thought it would be an advantage to grab 'im. After all, they featured his interview and nobody else's.

But anyway.

Certainly these recent episodes are at the lower end of what they've done; even some Monkey Trousers episodes were better than these. However, I must say that last week's episode was one that I enjoyed at least as much as the old ones. I thought it was very good, personally! Shame it's just the one.

The interviewing chap has a blog and expresses his surprise at shoving a mic in the face of a celeb. I suppose not everyone watches telly.

Vic is listed on the credits however.

There is a clip of tonight's episode featuring the final challenge.

'The Smell Of . . .' was brilliant.

The Smell Of... was the best sketch-type show they ever did.

The only feature in this new series that has remained funny is George's song and his random comments he says before giving the scores.

The Smell of... is the best thing Vic and Bob ever did and probably one of the finest examples of British comedy you will ever find.

Having said that I don't want this to end, I will miss Vic and Bob and I hope they get another series.
