Speeches DeBelle - Speech Therapy (She won the Mercury Music PRize and wanted to see why).

Jamie T - King and Queens

Dizzee Rascal - Tounge 'n' Cheek

I is gone all gangsta (well for a Kent lad).

Cool

I bought a bunch of local artists albums in mp3 format.

You guys probably won't recognize any of these artists since all 3 are Canadian and I don't think they sell much outside of Canada. Probably because I have habit of paying for Canadian music but not music from other countries. ;)

Alexisonfire: Old Crows Young Cardinals

Heard of these guys, a semi-popular rock band, I think.

Cool, yea I really like this band. This album is good but I loved "Watch Out!" and "Crisis". Two albums that are in my overall favourites of any album.

I recently bought a batch of 12 sound effects records, for 25 quid, on ebay. I used to produce my own music at home, and I plan to get back into it one day, so these records are bound to come in handy for that.

The last time I sampled a sound effects record, it was for an untitled song I put together years ago, that was part of an unfinished concept album I was working on. The story behind the song was that a chimpanzee had stolen a car, and was causing chaos, driving through the streets. The track was really funky, like something from a chase scene, from a '70s cop show, and I put the sound of a chimp screaming, from a sound effects record, on top of it, as well as the sound of a car, and people screaming, as they supposedly jumped out of the way of the oncoming car. It was sort of like Prog. Trip Hop.

Alexisonfire are a pretty big deal over here actually! :P Not my taste really. F**ked Up have some good songs though.

My last three albums:

Music Has The Rights To Children by Boards of Canada
Geogaddi by Boards of Canada
Fleet Foxes (S/T)

Unfortunately Boards of Canada have very little to do with Canada, Curt. :P

Fleet Foxes (S/T)

:( Your father and I are very disappointed you like that hippy, folky nonsense. Hopefully you'll grow out of it.

:D

I like all the hippy, folky nonsense! It's beeeautiful!

The other two albums are disturbing electronic music, so it's not all folky, hippy nonsense. :D

I suppose you have to rebel. But I will make you like Hendrix and Motorhead. :)
