My comment wasn't related to any of that. I agree 100% with you that there are grey areas. For instance, what if a 16-year-old boy has consensual sex with a 15-year-old girl, on the day before her 16th birthday? Does that make him a rapist? A paedophile? Of course not. My comment was related to the following comment you made

I don't know how it works in the UK and I couldn't begin to understand the laws for all 50 states in the U.S., but I think there's usually an age difference clause. For example, a 15-year-old can have consensual sex with an 18-year old, but not a 40-year-old.

And I agree - 13-year-olds are still children. My friend's step-daughter is a sexually mature 13-year-old, but she's still a kid. Very much so.
