BCG Meet up 2009 Page 126

Hi Ben! Pleased

Normal service is resumed.

I have an idea.

But I won't go into that one, so here's another one instead. Why are we limited to one BCG meet-up a year? The answer is, we aren't. I understand an official do might require room bookings, people travelling from long distance, etc, but is there any reason why we can't have another BCG meet before Christmas? Some of us couldn't make the last one and I for one think it would be good to meet up again with those I have already met, and to make acquaintance with those I haven't. 'Tis a good community here, innit?

Right. Saturday 5th December. A pub. London. (Sorry about the location - but if you are based elsewhere it might be an excuse to do that Christmas shopping trip people talk about as though shops don't exist in your own part of the world)?

If there is any interest at all, this event will happen.

Think this has been mentioned elsewhere, but yeah, basically that is ... it. Erm.

Yeah. We don't really have time to arrange a full, proper, 'official' one again this year. But something at Christmas is quite likely. I had envisaged a small thing (or thing(s), across the country) with just those local to it attending, rather than coming from across the UK. Get together for a meal or something.

So uh. Basically what I'm saying is, I agree.

Come on a my house!

Did I mention I am allergic to country western?

Fugly. F**king ugly or fat and ugly. Yes, I wonder why people would not like that over beautiful?

I said the picture was 'a good mixture of beauties and fuglies.' It's obviously a throw away remark. At worst I would expect people to assume that they were a beauty and other people were fugly. But it clearly isn't a serious comment. In fact I'd go so far as to say if someone else had posted it you wouldn't give a toss.

I missed this. Was my picture put up and did someone make an unflattering, personal comment about my looks?

Kenneth said that you looked like Jeremy Beadle.

No doubt, those who made speculative comments on the attractiveness of others from behind their computer keyboards all look like Brad Pitt, and so thusly, I and everyone else who attended the BCG Meet Up are fair game for ridicule and embarrassment, apparently.

It really is the cherry on the top of the cake when the pictures were posted by someone who wasn't even at the Meet and labelled us all 'fuglies'. Luckily for you, I've found pictures of your Mothers and I'm going to be sending them in to 'Rate My Milf'.

I didn't 'label you all fuglies', I said that the picture contained a mixture of 'beauties and fuglies'. So you might have been a beauty. Even so it was not meant to be taken seriously. As no doubt your post wasn't.

Incidentally, the only reason I wasn't at the meet was because it clashed with a prior engagement. I got back to London at 9.00ish and I toyed with the idea of coming along. I was at both of the previous meets. I live in London and I would ordinarily attend these things.

I'm sorry hun but that doesn't make it acceptable. I know you were nice enough to take the image down but it shouldn't have gone up in the first place. Wheter you like it or not, those pictures were meant to be private to a certain degree and while I wouldn't have a go at you for figuring out Bill's password, I'm sure everyone is dying to look, I have trouble understanding why you thought it was okay to post it on a public forum and to your credit, you did take it down when you knew it was upseting people but then to make a rather innapproiate joke, it just makes you look bad so you can't take the high ground when Nil has a go at you for saying that because I have to be honest, if it was my pic you had posted and then "jokingly" said I was fugly, I would totally tell you where you shove it because you have not even said "I posted something, I wasn't really thinking, I was just curious, and I am sorry for any upset I caused", you instead continue to act like it was a totally okay thing to do.

I have to defend myself against this because it is totally wrong. Firstly, I didn't take the picture down, it was removed by a mod. Secondly I did not post any of Billwill's pictures. I would never do that. I am able to understand the protocol around having a password protected gallery. I posted a composite picture of nine small heads in B + W. I also covered the eyes. I posted them to find out who they were as they were not people I had met. 2 admins sent me a list of who they were incidentally. I didn't post the picture with any derogatory remarks at all, and clearly it wasn't a picture designed to amuse anyone. It never once crossed my mind that anyone would use the picture to make jokes with. The people who made fun of the images were Kenneth, Marc P and KJSmyling, not me. I have seen no posts making any criticism of them, presumably because they are friends of the people complaining.

When I saw those pics that time, it was only a couple of pics, I didn't have access to the account and yet people were upset that Danny had shown them to me and we apolgised and it eventually got dropped. I think by you not apologising and behaving in such a way as if you don't care peoples feelings may have been hurt makes you look really small right now to be honest. If you want to be the bad guy of BCG, you are going the right way about it but I don't think you do because you clearly want to be in this rather incrediable web community. So do yourself a favour - drop the attitude, accept you made a mistake because all you are doing is winding people like Nil up by acting as if you don't give a monkies and I think you do because you wouldn't be here. Show you are better than that :)

Console No hard feelings at all.

Actually Nil was a bit rude to me, but I can take it. Obviously it isn't up to you to decide wether I am 'the bad guy of BCG', and I am more than willing to apologise if I do something that offends a lot of people. I have no idea what the incident is you are referring to with Danny, but I don't think it has any bearing on me. I like this forum and I've been a member of it for a long time, longer than most people who post regularly for what it's worth. I joined a month after Leevil, and a month before Ben. I don't say that for any other reason than to say that I think my commitment to it is well understood.

Finally I would like to say, I understand very well that some people on here are very shy, chronically lacking in confidence, introverted and/or have issues with other people seeing images of them. I would like to point out that my picture added nothing to the visibility of these people, and I would also like to suggest that almost no-one in the world is looking at the images from the meet. Billwill can tell you the stats but the only people who have seen these images are other BCG members, and they were surely looking at them with the interest you might have in pictures of your 'friends.'

Does this mean you are "in" or "out" for the 5th Dec meet, Godot?

I don't see how the type of his belly button has anything to do with it.
