Whether it was rape, consensual, the drugging etc. Like most crimes, I can't pretend to know what really happened.

I don't care about Polanski in the slightest and have no where in this thread supported him. I just hope justice is done for whoever, whenever. I was just trying to end the discussion to be honest.

Morrace, the facts in Townshend's case have already been shown. He was put on the list because he broke the law; is he an actual sex offender though, in the way most people would take that term to mean? A paedophile? No, it seems not.

It doesn't matter if it was consensual, she was 13. Polanski had asked her mother's permission to photograph her, so he obviously knew she was a minor.

I like Townshend's music and I like Polanski's films. I don't like rapists or pedophiles, so I like Townshend and dislike Polanski.

Okay, I didn't know he knew her age. But like I said I don't want to argue about something I don't know all the facts to. It's a pretty depressing story all round.
My argument about age of consent is that a 15 year old girl dating a 18 year old is seen as automatically wrong - not a forty year old badly taking advantage of a young teenager.
Seriously does anyone know how Bill Wyman was never investigated over his relationship? Was it because he eventually married her?

Supposedly, he had her mother's blessing. It's hard to prove a crime if nobody complains about it.

I don't 'like' rapists, paedophiles - or anyone who is placed on the Sex Offenders Register for accessing child pornography.
