Wasn't that one of the main characteristics of the Brent character? As opposed to anything to do with the guy who co-wrote him?

The bloke who plays him is full of himself in real life, too smug and self satisfied. Peter Kay is the same as well, fat and smug with the opinion that everybody finds him funny. I should like to slap both Peter Kay and Rick Gervais with a wet fish.

I'm presuming you've met both Gervais and Kay in order to make these statements?

Although I have never met either of them I can confidently say they are both fat and also from what I have seen and heard about them they do seem quite smug and arroagant, however, I think most people would go quite smug if they had managed to get close to obtaining legend status, and if people laughed hysetrically at your every word.

He seems alright to me. But then I don't know him.

I don't think you get the joke.

I just don't like the way they are in interviews or the way that they think they are amazing at everything they do.

I just can't stand self satisfied people like that.

I would get the joke myself, if there were any in the first place.

What's funny about a fat bloke shouting "It's spitting! It's spitting! Everybody in!"? It's not funny at all it's just a complete arse doing the same old crap again and again.

As for Ricky Gervais he's not much better really, just a waste of space and the fill in emergency guest on Friday Night With Jonathan Ross.

You don't have to know somebody or meet them personally to be able to tell that they are complete arrogant arse-wipes, they show that side of them perfectly well in TV interviews.

You can't even escape Kay when you turn on the radio now he's decided to use his "personality" to sell records. What a turd.

Top 3:

Ab Fab
MBB
Royle Family

Might have something to do with most overhyped series rather than worst. However, all 3 were certainly not as good as some people would have you believe.

I agree that Kay seems like a twunt, but I disagree that Ricky does. I think he comes across as a really nice bloke. As Dolly said, I don't think you get the joke. :)
(With Kay, there isn't one to get.)

1. 'Allo 'Allo!
2. Absolutely Fabulous
3. The Young Ones

Will you explain it to me pretty please?

I do get the joke with Ricky Gervias, I think him and Kay are two of the greatests writers and performers ever. I know Gervias's persona is to be a bit of a twat and I find that funny however as he has got more famous it is clear that a lot of what he says he actually means.

The thing that is most irritating is how he endlessly goes on about artistic credibility, even writing a sitcom about it, but then he quite happily sells his soul to Hollywood by co-writing a film which has a rediculously run of the mill romcom stlye plot.

Which film is this? Do you mean Ghost Town? He added lines here and there, but he didn't co-write it. Plus it's a pretty decent little film. Or do you mean the lying one, that's about tho come out?

Either way, he's hardly 'sold his soul'. He's had a go at making some films.

Anyone who accepts any money for themselves is a sell-out! Boo everyone!

I don't like it whenever Gervais says 'all British comedy is shit except The Office' I think that makes him seem rather arsey.

So why has no-one accused John Cleese, Dudley Moore etc etc etc, of selling out to Hollywood? Is it just cos it's Gervais maybe, and bones are being picked wherever possible?
