Peep Show - Series 6 Page 25

Gosh, that was a simply brilliant episode last night wasn't it. Easily one of the best 1/2 hours of comedy I've watched all year.

I did find it a bit annoying that 3 of the 'trailer scenes' more or less followed one after the other in the actual episode.

Yes, me too. What's more, they don't really work out of context, so the trailer itself had no redeeming qualities.

Are you two training to be professional pickers or something?!

The only thing wrong with that episode was that it didn't have anything wrong in it to pick at.

I know this is a very weird comparison and you might think I'm being a bit horrible but I thought Elena looked like http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2982124288/nm0397212

Ha! Gentle Ben guy?

Dolly will be thrilled with that.

I think Mark would literally prefer it to be anyone else's other than his. If it turned out to be his, he would feel that he'd be forced to try and get back together with Sophie.

But if it turns out not to be his, then I'm sure he'd really get into the idea & be really looking forward to it before he found out the truth.

There's certainly a lot of comedy mileage in having the identity of the real father remaining uncertain.

Angry

She is lovely. A very nice girl, super talented and a great writer too!

I didn't like the latest episode.
Who am I trying to kid? It was a doozie.

What an amazingly brilliant episode! Superbly written and I reckon one of the best they've done.

The fact that they actually gave Mark his moment of content thinking he wasn't the father (snogging Dobby singing 'I'm not having a baby' in his head!)before dropping the bombshell on him just made it.

I also loved Jeremy questioning if Mark was having the hardest sex ever then walking through seeing Mark going mental at the boiler and going "no, of course not!" :D

I found Mark and Jez in the supermarket with Jez spotting the sexy new neighbour in the supermarket and talking about her - to be very 'Seinfeldian'.

I know that when 'Peep Show' first began 6 years it was described as being like a UK 'Seinfeld' (i.e. a show about nothing) but that scene in particular seemed strongly reminiscent of 'Seinfeld' to me.

I don't really see the comparisons at all between the two shows. Yes, they both have a comedic interest in the minutiae of life, but beyond that...? And Peep Show is definitely not a "show about nothing". At its most basic level, it's about desperately trying to be a successful human being, but failing due to one's own arrogance (Jeremy), insecurity (Mark) and morbid fears (Mark & Jeremy). And Seinfeld was never really a "show about nothing" anyway. :)

I've seen a few episodes of Peep Show now and I don't understand the comparisons myself. Peep Show is much funnier, in my opinion.
