What are you reading right now? Page 81

Bradbury is great. One of my faves. As is Ian Watson in the short story department. :)

Does it bother you the way some people look
when you laugh out loud while reading a book
do they think you're strange
and really deranged
or do you just don't give a f**k

My parents and later my wife got used to my sudden outbursts of laugh.
I never read while on the way to work. For some reason, I believe it is not compatible with driving :P

I read on the tube a lot, and end up attracting some very odd looks. The best one was me giggling at Don Quixote, and confusing half of the carriage. :$

Reading popular science book 'Why Does E=mc2? (And why we should care?)' by Brian Cox & Jeff Forshaw. So far it has taken me through the basic theory of space-time relativity in a very gentle manner. Highly recommend. :)

Just finished reading the new League of Extraordinary Gentleman book called "Black Dossier". It wasn't as good as the first but not as terrible as the last one. And that's my review. I also disliked the fact that I didn't know who any of these 'classic' characters were.
To date, only the first LXG book is worth purchasing or even reading.

I still can't get my eReader software to work, so re-reading some Ian Banks.

I opened up a book to read
Just because I felt the need
So in my bed I settled down
To ease the stress of life in town

Then as I scanned each written word
A voice inside my head I heard
"You've read this book before my friend
So put it down I'd recommend

The pages tell a sorry tail
Of death and life with shocking scale"
But un-perturbed I carried on
Not thinking that it would go wrong

It started off quite pleasantly
But then became insistently
That I must finish all it said
Before I lay and rest my head

Then to my horror I was caught
A web of intrigue pulling taught
Like a fly upon a spiders home
My eyes were glued and couldn't roam

The hours passed at such a speed
As each page chased a trailing lead
Then night became a darkened shroud
As fear spurred up from all around

With fleeting pictures in my head
The ghostly ghouls of living dead
I swear I saw a spooky thing
Eyes of red and pointy chin

Behind the curtains it did poke
Moved its lips - I'm sure it spoke
While at the hour of coming dawn
I finished it without a yawn

Sleep won't come how hard I try
The fear of death won't pass me by
And now I'm on my way to work
I do feel daft - a proper jerk

I should've taken my advice
I've been a fool to read it twice
So if you want a nice night in
Don't read a book by Stephen king

The Audacity Of Hype by Armando Iannucci. A collection of his columns and general witterings. Hilarious. :D

David Sedaris--When You Are Engulfed in Flames

\O/

I was reading an interview with Diablo Cody in Bust at the hairdressers.

I trust you have merely forgotten the phenomenal second book.

Did you actually like the second book Scooty? The one when everyone dies except two characters. I really didn't like it. It seemed rushed, like Moore just didn't like the comic anymore and did it out of spite for those who did.

DON'T CALL ME SCOOTY! You, you Quebecoise!

And yes I thought it was fab; the whole War of the Worlds things, Dr Morrow, Paddington Bear Gypsy rapist? What's not to like?

Pardon my English it is only my first language Mr Scoooo....Sc...Soooco...Sooty!
And no I didn't like it. I thought it took on a completely different tone than the first book. I was happy with the dark humour from the first book but then it just went rediculous in the second.
