IT Crowd: "Alright, who hired the set designer?"

Was it just me or did last Friday's IT crowd look really different? The lighting and and set layout looked really weird. The episode wasn't completely awesome, but I was more worried about the set.

I hope they're not changing to appeal to the masses. It always goes wrong when you try to appeal to the masses! Teary

I personally didn't notice anything wrong with the set. Although, to be honest, my main focus was on the characters and the dialogue. I never take a lot of notice of sets.

You are the masses! Who did you think the masses were? If it gets on mainstream TV it's for the masses!

kinda had a cult following during the first series, but I follow what your saying Frankie.

Sorry, it wasn't meant as a put down at all.

What I meant was that no program gets on to mainstream TV without the expectation of a large (in the millions) audience. Also as Father Ted appealed to a mass audience it's not unreasonable to expect The IT Crowd to eventually attract a very large audience.

well yeah of course at the end of the day thats all the channel cares about.

Many of us are going to have to exist as writers and performers on the fringes of the mainstream as so few new writers/shows get an opportunity. I guess that's showbiz!

Different if loads of people like it because of the quality, but when you start changing things...

Sorry I'm being picky, doing Eng lit for A level and I'm supposed to be concentrating on sets :P

Yes I know what you mean about set watching. I had to do some work at Pinewood (very menial) and I spent quite a lot of time watching them dressing the set for continuity, etc. and then I started watching the sets as much as the show for awhile!

The office looks brighter and cleaner, I think this would've been to do with Jen and cleaning it up a bit, it was a dank pit before.

I have no idea what sets have to do with English Literature 'A' level but it sounds like a load of crock to me! :)

Either way, the main basement office set in The IT Crowd is more tidy, compared to the first series. I'm not sure if I preferred the messier version or not. It was certainly more fitting with Moss and Roy’s characters. I guess the clean-up is to reflect Jen’s influence within the environment?

What he said... :)

It's sexual stereotyping then! Just because they are blokes they must be messy and because of a woman's inluence, it has to be tidier! Hmph! If it were true to life, there'd be tights everywhere.. everyone knows just how messy women are! ;)

Laughing out loud

Not true! Now excuse me while I try and find my cat before it suffocates under my many clothes on the floor.

I am a messy person! Tend to chuck everything on floor and hate washing up! I make up for it by doing the cooking, washing, ironing, and a little DIY! The boys are in charge of cleaning, hoovering, and dusting (although I do like playing with the big dusterAngelic)
