What did you think of Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere? Although not exactly highbrow comedy, it was very, very funny in parts. How does it compare to Phoenix Nights?
Best of all they don't pay council tax....hee hee.

Peter Kay annoys me immensely, so I didn't watch any. From what I've heard, it wasn't exactly brilliant.
I thought it was okay, but I'm not really a Peter Kay fan. I liked Phoenix Nights though.
For me I prefer Phoenix nights. Road to nowhere did have its good parts but for me phoenix nights was all round entertaining.
For general Peter kay his best has to be 'That Peter Kay thing' though.
'Phoenix nights' didn't do a lot for me, 'That Peter Kay Thing' was rubbish, but Road To Nowhere was great.
I'm trying to work out if that last post was sarcastic?
I don't think it was, but I could be wrong.
it's not. Is it the smilie that confuses you?
I thought it was Bloody good. But then again, there are not many Brit Coms I don't like.....(wasn't a big fan of Yes Minster though!)
I loved Phoenix Nights.. But I thought his stand up wasn't that good. I can see where peeps are coming from when they say they don't like Mr Key. He needs a cast or a side kick with to pull it off....

Ah, saved yourself there. (Although I'd go further and say he needs a bullet to the head or something similar in order to pull it off. )
I used to be a big fan of Peter Kay. I still like his stuff, and Pheonix Nights is genius, but I find the lack of development to be very annoying. Max and Paddy was OK, the characters weren't strong enough to build a series around and the attempts to add depth to the characters was pretty weak. The midget girlfriend, Magnet & Steele, The pig, etc just isn't funny. The Porn film plot and the 2 prison episodes were pretty good. In general, Kay just tries to create catchphrases to sell T-Shirts, it was horribly obvious. Then there are the old gags they can't move away from, Garlic Bread, TV's own Bob Carolgees, etc.
Like I said, it's funny and I like it, but it's quite a few notches below Pheonix Nights.

a little harsh, don't ya think?
I loved Max and Paddy. I think too many people disregard Max and Paddy because it's not as good as Phoenix Nights, but I don't think it was ever Peter Kays intention to make it as fresh and groundbreaking as Phoenix Nights. People should just accept it for what it is, a good sitcom.

Perhaps. But... No, wait, this is Peter Kay. No.
Has there been any news regarding a new series of Max and Paddy?
