Anyone going to the opening night of this? I think me, Bussell, Ben and maybe a few others are.

Is it the Bumboy opening?

Is it the Bumboy opening?

Could be a good way for the author to crack his way into showbiz.

I was the call boy for my school's prodcution of Twelfth Night when I was fifteen. Never did me any harm.

Bumboy - a homeless schoolchild discovers he has superpowers. In his arse.

Is this the actual REAL premise of the now infamous Bumboy?
If so, if I'd have entered, I would have been realllllllly peed off if it had pipped my entry at the post.

And ok, so it might have an arse.
But does it have legs? :P

It's actually about a boy who is just a man-sized pair of buttocks, we made a special exception to the "must be stagable" rule because it was such a compelling script; even though it's a silent piece and the only word on any of the four hundred pages is "bum". It went in because we admired the writer's bold new direction!

Is that last year's winning title?

:)

Didn't get in? Want to know why not? We're holding a workshop on Oct 24th, and we'll have feedback from this year's producer, actors to read your script and 16 years experience between us of live sitcom to draw on.

One of the writers from our last workshop is a finalist, and was kind enough to write the following:

I just wanted to email to say thank you. I have been selected as a finalist for the sitcom trials and I don't think I would have done so without attending your workshop...your advice made a huge difference...I honestly don't think I would have got anywhere near being selected without your advice so again thank you very much.

Hopefully I will see you at the heats and if ever you need anyone convincing to attend your workshops I'm your man!

There are currently 6 places left. More info at http://www.every1sacritic.com/Every1sacritic/Workshops.html

But what about the people who attended the workshop who didn't make it? ;)

If coming to the workshop was an absolute guarantee that you'd get in they wouldn't have had to spend all that time ploughing through 380 entries. They could just have taken everybody who came to our last couple of workshops.

You've given me an idea. I'll suggest it to them. Thanks. Wave
