Laughing out loud naughty!

Mark, it's just what it says, a round of commissioning when they decide what programmes they're going to be making next.

But what is this "November" I've heard tell of?

And another question, does anyone know when the Radio 4 commissioning round is?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/commissioning/radio/network/radio4.shtml

You have to go through an Indie or in-house producuer. You can't just pitch directly. It's the same with CBBC - I had an idea for a kids telly show and had to register for what's called "E-commissioning". It's a bugger because you have to be invited by someone within the BBC to apply, or they'll not let you in. Luckily I got it sorted but it's getting harder and harder for newbies to get their stuff read, especially by the Indies who seem to be closing their doors to unsolicited stuff very quickly. Hmmmm.

I'd seen that page, thanks though. I just wanted to know if anyone knew when the round is.

Basically, a prod co has said they may or may not pitch my script in this round and wanted to get a sense of when to follow-up and so on.

Ahhh I see. Dunno then. Fingers crossed for your project though!

If it's not this round do you have to wait another year Mark. If that's the case tel the prod co to act or get off the pot as it were. What's with this may or may not??? Do they have an option on it?

The Writer's Lot
A Hiaku

My fingers stay crossed.
But my breath is never held.
So I stay alive.

Yes, start throwing your weight around. Prodcos like it when writers do that. ;)

Hence the question Marc, so I can get a sense of the urgency.

Proper production companies behave properly. 'We might put it up we might not, but if we don't we've taken your project out of circualation for a year and paid you nothing for the privilege' I don't know... but for me that doesn't sound like a great business proposal.

That may not be the case of course which is why I was asking what the nitty gritty details were. Is it a reputable prod co Mark?
