Which sitcoms would you bring back? Page 14

I nominate Pulling which was canned after two series for absurd reasons to do with BBC Three's demographics and not because it had run out of steam or that Sharon Horgan no longer wanted to write or star in it.

Second one is This is David Lander with Stephen Fry which was a spoof investigative current affairs show and was years ahead of its time and didn't really get the recognition it deserved and would build up a much bigger ratings with today's more savvy audience.

My only grumble is the inclusion on the DVD of a certain racist word, several times in the same scene, they should have cut it

That kind of sentiment is cause enough for a banning! Angry

To paraphrase David Brent wasn't it made before they had racism?

My only grumble is the inclusion on the DVD of a certain racist word, several times in the same scene, they should have cut it or at least warned that it may offend on the DVD cover or at the start of the ep.
it.

Context, man, context!

however, I still think that this harsh system serves to eliminate poor work and failing shows. The cost will be that one or two will be cut off unduly - unfortunate, but better than countless shows being allowed to go on when they clearly are not working.

Nah. Plenty of American shows have suffered massive declines in quality and even the hardcore Frasier fans would admit that for a few series it really went downhill. The Simpsons also began declining more than a decade ago. It happened to Roseanne too. It's all about profitability not quality.

I would deffo bring back Mr Bean!!! I think it was a brill worldwide hit and more would be fantastic, in fact I would bring back loads such as:

The Office
Not Going Out
Pheonix Nights
and many more!!!

From the last ten yrs, Stella St. Must be a few new characters they could do.
The old one would have to be WHT The Likely Lads, such a fantastically written and acted 'proper' sitcom, lots of location shoots, well rounded characters, a narrative arc running through the whole thing and consistently good stories. Would show up the mass of cheap dross on at the mo to be just what it is.

I'd like Nathan Barley back... 6 episodes was not enough for those characters.
