Now you see you've confused me straight away - what are API's?
Basically its my new people finding business - many finding birth parents of adopted people or long lost relations or friends.
I'm just trying to get some interested people to the website.
Mmmm probably best set up a page on Facebook best for that I'd think advertising on Twitter is a science.
API are the feeds of the data with out the guff of the GUI. So you can make apps like tweet deck etc.

You just have to sign up with your business name or similar. Then post things related to your business. You update your website, you post an update saying so with a link. You add a new product or service to your corporate offerings, you post so with a link to more info. Etc.
