Sitcom Trials Autumn '09 Page 39

How did we can beaten by 'Bumboys'? Wow. That must have been a spectacular script

There must have been a cock up somewhere Adam.

And like Danny says well done to all and good luck with the next stages. Now to break the sad news to Stephen.

:D

I take it you mean Robin, Dan? I get mixed up with the Robins on here. But, yes, congratulations to all who got through.

I also know a couple of entrants from the last Sitcom Trials. Two of the people I worked with last time are through so I'm really pleased for them (they didn't write last time) and Pete Higgins who was in the final made it through again. But there are a lot of names I'd not heard of.

Obviously it's a bit crap to be rejected but just having the competition deadline pushed me to actually write one which I'm pleased about - now I'll do more work on it so I can send it to someone else to reject. :)

Totally agree. This gave me the motivation to pull my finger out and write another sitcom so if people want to start setting up fake writing competions that's fine by me. Oh and the feeling of rejection is indeed a bit crap. However congratulations to everyone who did make it.

Hi Dave. Don't see you much round here.

Yes, some strange titles in the list! I can't help thinking Bumboy is written by someone from this site.

Not many female finalists too.

True and I was still trying to work out Marc's pseudonym... so thanks for the head's up!

Laughing out loud

All right, I'm through with all this furtive lurking. I've been a member on here for the past couple of months and I've entered The Works Sketch Writing comp and got nothing to show for it, and now the sitcom trials, with just a rejection email. However, it has made me get off my fat arse and actually write something - so hey, that must be good. I guess.
Hello everyone, btw.

Hello. :)

Marc don't be coy. We know you wrote Bumboy.

Marc I don't care if your entry was twenty words scribbled on a beer mat I am temporarily in the same boat as a professional and that's good enough for me! Thank you.

Hi Kasm

Welcome to the site of broken dreams.

Ah, but the good thing, as Mikey pointed out, is that the sitcom could be repackaged and entered for sitcom saturday and... voila - the dream is intact again! ;)

Only isn't the deadline been and gone?

Aha, but sneakily I sent it off at 11PM last night when I worked out that the sitcom trials weren't going to leap at my script bumgirls!
