Canadian Comedy?

I'm specifically interested if anybody has seen either The Newsroom or Slings and Arrows. Both are Canadian and both are very well critically recieved, yet I've seen neither. And, as far I'm aware, neither are avaliable on DVD in this country. The reason I ask is because the guy behind Slings and Arrows wrote last nights Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, so he's clearly a talented guy.

Can't say I've ever seen any Canadian comedy, I don't think. And as far as I'm aware, those two haven't been on TV here so are unlikely to get a release until they are.

Slings and Arrows was on the Art Channel or something and The Newsroom I believe is on or coming to FX.

I've also never heard of them, and I'm Canadian. :S

Aaron, the best known Canadian comedy is probably SCTV or The Kids in the Hall. Maybe you've seen one of those?

But they could have done with having a woman on the team, some of it was a bit creepy.

Nah. The greatest comedy tradition is men dressing as women.

I heart The Kids In The Hall.

I've heard of The Kids in the Hall, but have never seen it.

Whenever I think of The Kids in the Hall, I always picture Billy Connely and I think it's because I'm getting it mixed up with another show he actually did called, Head of the Class, anyone remember this?

I'm sure I used to watch TKITH, but they would have been repeats.

Yum.

Colin Mocherie is Canadian :D but hes just a nutcase

He reminds me of my uncle. # Pointless information no. 34

haha you would love my friend's bulletin theme " the lessons" we've had Lesson #16(size difference) where a woman on WWTBAM? answered that an elephant was bigger than the moon XD

There are schloads of Canadians in America doing comedy. In fact they are all over American comedy TV. And they all know each other.

One of my teachers at SECOND CITY LA was Deborah Theaker who is a writing partner with Scott Thompson from KIDS IN THE HALL as well as a cast member of every Christopher Guest movie. I only got a glimpse into that small world through her, but it's a very tight community.
