More of a collection than an album proper though.
To misquote Partridge:
"My favourite Beatles album? I would have to say, 'The Best Of The Beatles'.
(Bombs isn't a best of, but I wanted to use that line!)
"Who were 'Wings'? They were only the band 'The Beatles' might have been."
Quote: swerytd @ September 18 2009, 12:26 PM BSTFirst album's Fake Tales From San Francisco: "You're not from New York City, You're from Rov'rum!" -- second best lyric of all time.
Dan
The first being "2 multiplied by 10, plus 1, Romeo Dunn"...obviously.
Quote: Nil Putters @ September 18 2009, 12:23 AM BSTLA Woman & What's The Story? for me there.
NIN - Pretty Hate Machine
Jesus Jones - Liquidizer
Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters
I actually like NIN -'With Teeth' better. Overall I think Reznor's new stuff is better. Besides 'Head Like a Hole' I thought PHM was terrible but I dislike Dance music and it was pretty much techno.
Foo Fighters first album was awesome but I like almost all Foo Fighters albums. I don't know which one I could pick one.
Quote: swerytd @ September 18 2009, 11:39 AM BSTI thought Coldplay's Parachutes wouldn't be bettered, but they did it straight away with A Rush Of Blood To The Head.
Dan
I haven't liked a Coldplay album until their most recent.
My offer is Rage Against the Machine's self titled album. I liked Evil Empire too but their first album was down right addictive for me.

No. "I've been working on a cocktail, called Grounds For Divorce"
Dan
Tenacious D's first album 'Tenacious D'.
Quote: bigfella @ September 18 2009, 10:41 AM BSTNot their first album - that was "Lies"
Lies was a double Ep from 1988, with Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide recordings on one side (released as Ep before Appetite For Destruction) and four acoustic songs on the other. Appetite For Destruction is still their first full-length.
Either way the release dates for AfD was 87 and Lies was 88.
Now how about that Chinese Democracy eeeeh?! eh?
Belle & Sebastian's 'Tigermilk'. They have done some great albums, but this is my favourite of theirs
The first Von Bondies album, Lack Of Communication:
The Pretenders - The Pretenders
First Silver Sun album:
First Weezer album:
I was going to say not many bands hit it off with their first album.
However the first Stranglers album was brilliant.
Quote: JohnnyD @ September 18 2009, 11:59 AM BSTGoing all eighties:
Lexicon of Love is a great album that ABC never bettered.
Similarly Soft Cell and Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret.
Two very good albums although I thought ABC's Beauty Stab was brilliant too.
The first Santana album was great too.
I love Weezer's first album so, so much. "Say It Ain't So." Woot!
