Did anyone else notice that Martin Freeman said no more than about 10 words in the whole 30 minutes?

I'm going to have to watch it again to check.

Is it me or is the guest interaction greatly reduced from previous series? And did the old episodes have a longer running time?

Come on Mark, read the posts of your members, zooo and Aaron do. ;)

I really enjoyed the doll house stuff tonight, made a nice break from the usual schtick.

Was a bit disappointed with the show overall, Vic and Bob's repeating the joke bit is start to get kind of irratating. The Hairy Biker pastiche was also a tad lazy. Even George Dawes' song wasn't much cop.

Let's hope it picks up.

I didn't like George's song, it was rubbish this week. But the rest was top.

I suppose those bits will be to some, but they've always done them in the show. They used to have that bit every episode where Vic stops everyone to try and do a big joke, then the tumbleweed rolls past.

I liked Shooting Stars last night... they just make me giggle. I did like it when Vic repeated the joke and made Aggy laugh.

I really like Angelos (sp).

It's not so much the fact that these repetitive jokes are done, Matthew, I just don't see them performed with any conviction, just as necessary to a formula (and frankly to fill time). Another sign that the format has become rather stale is that in the first few series there was genuine interaction with the guests, genuine interest in and from them. Now the guests are as much a part of the audience as - well - the audience. They sit there bemused, knowing that this is meant to be hilarious, so why isn't it? You can actually see the disappointment in their eyes sometimes. I liked the Heather McCartney/Barack Obama ditty out of nowhere last night, but such inspiration is rare. Too much relies on goodwill and the nostalgia value.

Ah well, it just makes me laugh still, still doesn't feel tired to me. As for bemused guests, I think from day one there's been a long line of bemused/stoney faced/ what-the-hell-am-I-doing-here type guests to have graced the show! :D

Yes, but many of them used to be laugh as well. The only guest I've seen who's genuinely seemed to find what was happening funny is Paddy Considine, to be honest.

The guests know what to expect now. I always remember the brilliant bit with Damon Hill meeting the Stotts in Smell Of (was it?).

Meh, I still find it funny, makes me laugh, job done. :)

It was in Bang, Bang... but yeah, twas good. Rather bizarrely Sinead O'Connor also did that segment.

Fair enough, Stotty, some people are easily pleased. ;) :)

I must have blocked that out. She's not renowned for having a sense of humour.
