The Red Raw Push - An Online Campaign for Psychoville Series 2

Here's the mission, should you choose to accept it: Flood the world with Psychoville LOVE! ;)

As it stands, The BBC has no plans to commission a second series of 'Psychoville'. If you are a fan of the one-of-a-kind series, and want to see another; want some closure on the ending; or simply admire Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton - let your voice be heard and show your support.

1) http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/we-want-psychoville-series-2 --
We chose this site for the best overall experience (there was petition submitted on a different site, but that wasn't working for us ) Those signing the petition have the option of writing a personal comment or letter outlining why you think Psychoville should be commissioned for a second series. You can also view the letter to the BBC that will be sent out once we reach - or near - the goal of 100,000 signatures. THAT'S RIGHT - 100,000!
So hop, skip - or strut - over there and sign! Be sure to expound upon why you feel Psychoville S2 should be commissioned.

2) Show your support on You Tube! Watch the fantastic cause videos created by TheModette at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpHVS9AnNEI - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OkydxffQ3g & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx7682_D_c8 -- and leave a comment or create your own fan/cause video response.

3) Support We Want Psychoville Series 2 on Twitter: Add a 'Twibbon' to your Twitter pic - Go to http://twibbon.com/join/We-Want-Psychoville-Series-2-2
Also, add http://twitter.com/WWPsychovilleS2 as a friend - receive progress updates on the petition, twibbon, and more.
We're all for trending, so let's make #WeWantPsychovilleS2 a trending topic. Tack the hashtag(#) on any tweet about the show - or any tweet period. :D

4) A Facebook page for the Red Raw Push Campaign. Discuss the show; tell us how you plan to spread the word; post links, fan-vids, art, thoughts, etc. All ideas on how to get the word out are welcome! http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?topic=104...00&uid=131702307995#/group.php?gid=131702307995

5) The Red Raw Push is now on MySpace! Add us here - http://www.myspace.com/theredrawpush

There is much, much more to come!

While we are well aware that the BBC is - as one person put it - 'a rather uniquely funded business'; we hold no false notion that they will say "SURE! Of course we'll bring the show back!"
We simply think it's an effective way to allow the fans to be heard as well as show appreciation for something incredibly far from mundane in a world in which so many negative elements have become the norm.

If you have any questions - e-mail us @ WWPsychovilleS2@sbcglobal.net .

***Note: if you have yet to sign the petition, we strongly encourage you to include why you want to see a Psychoville series 2 and/or some good words for the Reece and Steve. We do understand some of you wish to remain anonymous. (Frankly, I'd try if I could get away with it.)
Regardless of whether or not we reach our goal, we intend to make sure your words of appreciation are sent to Reece and Steve. --- M.M.***

Signed the petition and did the twitter stuff. I'll pimp it to all my friends too.

Have seen this floating around the web for a few days now - very very impressive campaign :P Yet to join the Facebook group but have added the twibbon.

Is it just three of you behind it? That's awesome.

Hey, thanks for getting the word out. Any help on making people aware of the petition (not to mention getting them to sign ;) ) is appreciated.

Thankee! I'm glad you find it impressive. We've accomplished quite a lot in the period of less than a week.

Yes, just three chicks on a mission, but others will be involved once we consolidate everything into an 'official' website. We'll update Twitter, Facebook and MySpace with the information once the site goes live.

Only a week?! Flipping 'eck! Laughing out loud I'm following you on Twitter anyway. Had a look at the Myspace page as well, you're a very pretty group of "chicks" :$

Hah! Thank you. Hopefully nobody makes me the mistake of writing THAT on the petition. :P

Could be beneficial to the cause... :P Whistling nnocently

Isn't it a little soon to be panicking about a lack of a second series?

Agreed. And since BBC Two haven't exactly had many successes this year, I'd say it's a pretty good odds that this is coming back.

It does say something worrying about the state of TV comedy that when a new series airs which is (pretty unanimously) critically acclaimed and gets decent ratings for its genre/channel/time slot, there is still automatically the worry that it won't get a second series. (This is not a dig at the people organising a petition, but at the people who might give them cause to feel the need to do so.)

I always thought if something was getting another series, we'd know about it by now. (don't know why I thought that....)

Next round of commissioning in October. Might get an announcement then...

Ohhhhhhh. Okay, cheers. I don't really know how these things work.

Depends on the series, on the channel's direction, commisssioners involved, etc. Sometimes things are commissioned before the 'current' series has aired at all, sometimes it can be a couple of months, or even a year. And I suspect that a lot of companies now wait for DVD sales figures to help decide.

Oh right okay, so no need to worry just yet! Thanks for the info. :)
