Best Sitcom producer

In my opinion, Sydney Lotterby is the best of the lot. The production makes all the difference to any TV programme, and Sydney's great work reflects in Open All Hours, Porridge, The Liver Birds and many others.

Does anyone else agree with me?

Ray Butt for me.

Heh, heh. Butt.

I really can't comment, I wouldn't really know what any of them do to be completly and utterly honest.

I know I have to brown nose them though.

Duncan Wood's a pretty safe bet for a quality show. Have a look at this (incomplete) credit list: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0939674/

John Howard Davies, John Lloyd and Bob Spiers are three names that appear again and again on some of the best Britcoms.

Nira Park. Black Books, Spaced, Free Agents. Plus some of the Comic Strip Presents... and movies Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz. Definitely one of the most successful current producers in comedy.

Armando Ianucci springs to mind. Although he's something of a polymath. So I'd opt for John Loyd. Of the current crop... God knows, since not a lot of modern comedies really excite me. And I get the feeling they don't excite the producers who produce them much either.

Mustn't forget Jon Plowman, who's produced lots of good shows.

They're like the Mitchell brothers in thirty years time.

I have to agree. Also there's Scott Pilgrim & Paul coming up to. Yay!
