British Comedy Guide

What would you choose.

Imagine you have been given a slot on BBC2 from 8.30pm-11.30pm. You in that time have to put on an episode from a sitcom from the following decades:
8.30: 50s
9.00: 60s
9.30: 70s
10.00: 80s
10.30: 90s
11:00: 2000s
What show and what episode would you put on. This is mine:

8.30: Hancocks Half Hour- The Set That Failed- 9th January 1959
9.00: Dads Army- Operation Kilt- 1st March 1969
9.30: On the Buses- Foggy Night- 27th February 1970
10.00: Only Fools and Horses- Friday the 14th- 24th November 1983
10.30: One Foot in the Grave- Love and Death- 8th November 1990
11.00: Black Books- Manny Come Home- 11th March 2004.

Well there you have it, what would you choose?

9.30: On the Buses- Foggy Night- 27th February 1970

I missed this first time round as I was busy being born.

Laughing out loud

Nobody fancy having a go then?

Nobody fancy having a go, anyone?, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Laughing out loud

It's just a weird question Jack, sorry.
I'll have ago.

8.30: 50s - ??!!
9.00: 60s - Steptoe and Son
9.30: 70s - Bless this House
10.00: 80s - Cheers
10.30: 90s - Frasier
11:00: 2000s - Curb Your Enthusiasm

:D
Well, the having to choose a specific episode put me off, so I'm missing that bit out.

8.30 ~ Hancock's Half Hour

9.00 ~ Steptoe and Son

9.30 ~ To The Manor Born

10.00 ~ Red Dwarf

10.30 ~ Spaced

11.00 ~ The Thick Of It

They aren't necessarily my one and only favourite sitcom from each decade, just ones I love that haven't been on enough through repeats already.
It's so much harder to choose from the 90s and 2000s.

Ditto Zoo. The episode specificity put me off! It's really, really hard enough anyway! (Shut up Lee. And you, Adam.)

Anyway.

8:30 - The Adventures of Aggie
9:00 - The Best Things in Life
9:30 - Bless This House (S05E01 - They Don't Write Songs Like That Anymore)
10:00 - Yes Minister
10:30 - Dad
11:00 - Time Gentlemen Please

Honestly, you do not know how hard it was for me to choose for most - actually, all - of those!

9:30 Is a good time for Sid James Ya, ya, ya, ya, ya!

9:30 - Bless This House (S05E01 - They Don't Write Songs Like That Anymore)

Great episode, but I preferred the episode "A Touch of the Unknown"- final episode of the brilliant second series.

Hmm, which one is that? *scratches head*

They Don't Write Songs Like That Anymore is by far my favourite episode. Laughs all the way through, particularly Sid's song. Cracks me up just thinking about it. Laughing out loud

Still haven't sen enough to know which episodes are which, but I did tape Paramounts marathon, so I'll soon catch up.

A great idea for a thread!

8.30: Hancock - The Missing Page
9.00: Please, Sir - They're Off
9.30: Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads - The Great Race
10.00: Yes, Prime Minister - The Key
10.30: Fathed Ted - A Song for Europe
11.00: One Foot in the Grave - Tales of Terror

It's the one where the Abbot's think there are ghosts in the house. Robin Askwirth played Mike's friend, he will be most famous for his role in the
(in)famous Confessions movies

Oohhh yes, that one. Indeed it is a good episode. :)
