Lunch Monkeys - Series 1 Page 8

Saw this. Makes Two Pints look like Fawlty f**king Towers.

A character-less, almost hateful depiction of the working class. If Mr Isaacs despises them as much as he appears to, why the f**k did he bother writing about them?

It is almost offensively poor, which by BBC Three standards is going some.

403, 000 viewers which is pretty good for BBC Three. If it keeps that kind of share it'll get a second series.

Off The Hook only got 144, 000. I'd forgotten t was on so it's partly my fault.

Well, OTH is pre-watershed, plus it was hardly promoted. I don't think I saw one advert for it.

Shame, as it's a much, much better programme. Which isn't difficult, but still.

BBC comedy is the new ITV comedy.

Was this supposed to be on CBBC, or on Channel 4 at 2:45am in the 'Writers new to television' strand?

Utter rubbish.

Someone said this was better than the pilot... clucking bell!!

They seem to be really pushing this one. I think it's been repeated on BBC Three every night since it was on!

Do you mind me asking how old everyone is here? If you're not the target audience you're bound to hate it but some of you go to some extreme lengths to say how crap something is, are you that bored?

Your implication being that the target audience for this are young, spiteful idiots?

And are you seriously suggesting that nobody over the age of 30 has a right to critique this?

There have been some programmes on BBC Three (We Are Klang, How Not To Live Your Life, The Mighty Boosh, Off The Hook), which I've enjoyed very much, despite not being in the target audience. Was I, by your definition, wrong to enjoy and praise these?

That's an absurd thing to say.

Well spotted - we're all 60 year old white, male, middle-class Daily Mail readers around here. What rot! Are you really suggesting that if we were all 16-24 we'd be loving this show? I suspect most of us aren't the target demographic for CBBC's I'm Sorry, I've Got No Head but many of us can appreciate how funny a show that is. The reason that very "bad" or "unfunny" shows get slated around here is that this is a website whose members are passionate about comedy (the clue's in the name of the site). No doubt we go to extreme lengths to praise good comedy shows as well (compared with the average viewer/listener) and that too is an equally wasteful use of our time?

No-one is forced to praise/slate a show and if you look back over the threads for old shows, the general tone of each tends to accurately reflect the mainstream consensus of how they are now remembered.

Plus we're bored and can't access porn sites at work.

What rot!

Laughing out loud

Tim you can't say that unless you are wearing one of my avatar's hats!

*adorns himself in tweed*

What rot!

:)

But you were right.

It's utter tosh.

It's heartening to see a new member ripped to pieces by four old lags. :)

I wonder if you can access porn sites if you work at a adult film production company, or do you think management blocks them there as well?
