I think Appletiser would be the drink I'd wash my Last Supper down with or Fruli, a Belgian strawberry beer, I recommend highly.

Appletise (NO 'R', DAMNIT!) is yummy, but all apple-based drinks make me feel sick if I have them in any significant quantity. Nice to sip at a glass or two.

Some of the flavoured waters are nice and not too sweet. An added bonus is they are incredibly cheap from supermarkets.
I know any form of water SHOULD be cheap but we've all seen the ridiculous prices.

Ha! I was just wondering about that.

The 'r' makes it sound common too, like Tizer. :)

I can test my new found powers of restraint at the meet up next week. :)

No offence Tim, but you might want to stay away from me then as I'm a complete enabler party animal. None of this three pints maximum, I need to stay in control rubbish.

I've stayed in this weekend to make sure I've got enough booze money for the pub. And just to make things worse, there's a McDonalds five minutes walk away on Oxford Street that's open to 4am.

I plan to wake up the next morning afternoon completely smashed with special sauce all over my face.:O

Toga! Toga! Toga!

EDIT: zooo is correct, cola is the most delicious thing ever. Believe it or not, milk can be a good substitute as a meal time beverage.

Laughing out loud

As long as there's plenty of methadone I'll be just fine. :)

Can you bring some morphine? :)

Been trying to switch to soft drinks when I get the craving to crack open a bottle of an evening. I would recommend Bundaberg's Lemon, Lime & Bitters and Root Beer. Fentimans also do a good range of traditional soft drinks that are not too sickly sweet.

But sadly most pubs are rubbish for non-alcoholic beverages.

That's because they are pubs, where you go to buy booze and get pissed. I don't go into Starbucks and complain at they're lack of vodkas. ;)

Unfortunately there is also a need too cater for designated drivers and teatotalers who do not wish to be socially excluded. Even Starbucks do decaf.

Bah! Conan laughs at your teatotalers and designated drivers.

Of course, I'm London based with a wealth of transport options 24/7, so my view is skewed and more then a little biased.

I'm amazed to read that people actually drink so much Coke, Pepsi and other fizzy drinks. I thought they were just for kids. And bad for the teeth. I'm -- years old and I don't have a single filling. If thirsty, drink water. If needing to stay awake/alert to meet a deadline, drink strong coffee. If going out - drink alcohol to excess and enjoy. If drinking a spirit, always have it neat or with water/ice but never mixed with an awful soft drink. If on the wagon (as I have been for 2 years), don't stay out too late with the heaviest drinkers - it gets dull. And enviable.

Newly arrived illegal immigrants have a better grasp of English than that.

For kids? Eh? You have a peculiar view of the world!

I fear sir, that you hold me to too high a standard. Yes, I am godlike in many ways, but the 'there, their, they're' eternal conumdrum even eludes me at times.

Still, I accept your challenge and shall venture forth unto the streets of Hackney Town this very eve to ascertain whether a collection of newly arrived Afghan live stock specialists are betterer at writing propa England.

I must be old-fashioned. When was I growing up, kids drank soft drinks (or cordial) and adults drank alcohol.
