Quote: Jane P @ September 11 2009, 9:16 AM BSTNice one Sammy - sorry I missed you there!
I see what you mean about them trying to put a spin on it though.
What? You travelled "all the way to Edinburgh"? It's hardly a trip to the South Pole is it?
You spent three months on a show and £800 each and had a great time? - What a tragedy!
If I had any performing ability whatsover I'd see it as an excellent way to spend a few weeks. You'll have gained all kinds of useful experience and a few good contacts hopefully.
Thanks Jane!
I'm not sure where they got the £800 figure from either - it cost me £500 in total and I made £300 of that back in donations from the shows. Like you saythat's more than worth it for a great time for a month and I personally did learn so much / make great contacts and also new friends. The whole experience was invaluable.
It was really interesting to see how they could put a spin on things. The question where I answered 'it's very hard, there are hardly any jobs for the amount of people who want to do it' was in answer to a question they asked about how hard it was to get acting work. So it seemed a little odd when they made it look like I was talking about the comedy world, where as far as I'm concerned you can make a lot of your own work by gigging etc
Did you have a good time when you were up there then? What did you go and see?
