I'm saving some word documents onto a CD to send out to different people.
I'm using a PC
Will these disks only work on a PC or will they also work on a MAC?
Thanks!

Both.
Excellent - thanks!
Word should have a compatibility tool, somewhere? Afte you've saved your document, run that on whatever version and it'll report on what needs changing, if anything.
So long as you're using Word and not (f**king) Pages you'll be reet.
On a related topic, for some reason you may experience problems opening a file when emailing Final Draft files between a PC and Mac.

I have no problem opening Pages on PCs. I had problems opening the new .docx files. I would advise not sending anything via .docx
You can get a program that will change them into .doc but its a slow process.
If you want a file that can be read by anyone use (even those crazy folk without Word), use the extension .rtf (rich text format).
I hate Mac. My college runs completely on Apple Macs. I've never got used to their system and that's fab when you're following a Computing course.
Well, I say never... I think it's just a case of not liking it now.
I hate those PC/MAC wankers.

Woh that was from left field.

No, Pages opens Word files.

Or even .txt. That can be read by any computer anywhere running anything.
I just finished hacking on a $240 Dell Mini 10v netbook. It now dual-boots OS X 10.6.1 and Windows 7 Ultimate, so henceforth I can be equally offended by both anti-Mac and anti-Microsoft slurs.
Linux Loser! Oh, that's me

I'd run the Linus if I had the PC.
I can only get one OS to work on my laptop* and that is Puppy Linux. For a free OS it is great. It offers nearly everything I need, very simple for a Linux based OS and it's tiny and fast.
But it has some compatibility issues, plus it can be very slightly buggy. I don't want Windows, but an OS with a bit more "Grrr" in it would be nice. But oh, well.
*I've tried lots of Linux OS, every version of Windows and a few other things I can't remember. I think I have a problem with the hardware concerning the video bit thingy, but it's not worth replacing, so for now I'm stuck with Puppy.
