Explorer upgrade problems

I just upgraded my IE browser and it removed the Google box in the toolbar and the spell checker button for online use. I tried to add it agian by clicking on the tools button and then a trojan virus appeard for the Google bar?? Very odd, my AVG shifted it to the virus vault - which I don't know if you are supposed to empty by the way.

I'm guessing it is IE trying to default over Google but have no idea what's going on.

Anyone else have this problem?

:(

No.

Sounds like you've let yourself become your computer's bitch (rather than the other way round), Mr P. Cool

Yes. :( Not my area of expertise, which is cocktail shaking.

Sexual innuendo thread for this smut, please. Unimpressed

At a guess, your Google Toolbar is not compatible with the new version of IE. Try uninstalling it, then downloading and installing the latest version from Google's site.

I would imagine that your Google toolbar contains some form of spyware that AVG doesn't like. Probably nothing malicious, just the Googloids wanting to know where you're going and what you're looking at so they can sell you crap.

You can switch your AVG off and install the toolbar and then try switching your AVG back on again.

Personally, I'd try and live without the toolbar, but that's me, no safety net.

Cheers Aaron/RCPP. These automatic defaulting things really bug me.
So should I click empty the virus vault too? Or leave well enough alone.

:)

I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I could've worked that out from this sentence extract:

Hope you fix the problem soon, this new MarcP is very scary. :D

Doesn't really make much difference. I expect what AVG objected to was something in the old Google Toolbar conflicting with something in the new IE. There's no point in keeping it, but as I say, it won't make any difference.
