Beatles Rock Band help?

Hi everyone

I'm looking to get the Beatles Rock Band for Wii in a couple of days. I don't have any Rock Band games or instruments at the moment, only the Wii.

Is anybody else going to be getting this? What would you recommend for a first-timer with no other instruments or anything?

Cheers :)

Why not rent it first then?

I've never played a Rock Band/Guitar Hero game so can't help I'm afraid.

[nostalgia] When I were a lad, we would want actual instruments, and we'd form bands and play music together. Does that still happen?[/nostalgia]

[old fart] I can't help being concerned that in spending time playing these games which do not permit the user any artistic expression, future generations may end up impoverished in some way. [/old fart]

Do you get to battle Yoko at the end?

Speaking of which, I heard that she did have a say in the direction of this video game and true to form, she was her usual untalented, interfering, pain in ass, mad old bitch self during the process.

I think you pretty much have to have one of the instruments to be able to play it. Guitar is probably best as I think it allows you to do the guitar and bass bits.

I'll probably buy this at some point too.

Such good advice he said it twice!

I think I know what I'm getting now. Thanks all.

What really is the point?

Why not get yourself a synthesiser?

Guitar Hero is fun for a bit, best played with lots of people though. Rather then fingering on your own.

Rock Band is fun (haven't played The Beatles edition yet) but the peripherals (unless they've upgraded them) are shite. The GH ones are much sturdier.

Personally I'm going to be getting GH5 on Friday.
