Unknown show: dentures in the teapot?

I can't for the life of me remember the name of this sitcom. I had watched it a number of years ago on my local PBS station (WLIW, just for the sake of mentioning). I believe the show was fairly new and I would guess it to be from the mid- to late-90's.

There is one scene in particular that I remember:

Husband and wife are cleaning out the teapot, in it they find a pair of dentures from a relative and exclaim,

"She was looking for them the day she died."

"... that was over years ago!"

I know it's a total longshot, but it would be awesome if you guys could help point me in the right direction. :)

Is it american or English?

Is it american or English?

English, of course. This is a British Sitcom forum, after all. ;P

The fact that it was aired on PBS (in reruns) is largely irrelevant. I just thought I'd throw that in since I'm so sparse on the details to start with... and in case some passing Americans should happen to remember it being aired.

I don't know why, but I;m thinking of One Foot in the Grave. Were they an older couple?

I don't believe it! It does sound very OFITG.

Sounds like that kind of humour.

Other people have suggested to me that it might be One Foot in the Grave and I was definitely watching that show around the same time.

... it's also entirely possible that I'm getting a scene from One Foot in the Grave confused with the other show I'm trying to think of.

I guess I'm just going to have to rewatch the entire series. What a chore! ;)

Enjoyable though.

That scene sounds incredibly likely to have come from a One Foot In The Grave Christmas Special, the one where an aunt has died and Victor drives up in the snow (with Deayton in the boot of his car) to the abandoned house. Then again I may be wrong...

and um, I wonder if they (or just Victor) had been using the teapot for sometime without knowing what was within...

I remember Brian Murphy giving his 'collection of teeth' to Victor and then committing suicide. Depressing sitcom wasn't it? :)

OFITG definitely had a 'dark' side yes
